major towns in the Barossa

No matter
what time of year you choose to visit The Barossa there is always
a changing beauty about the region. Whether you visit in the
summer when the weather is hot and dry and the landscape is a
pattern of green vines amongst yellow fields, during the autumn
when vintage is on and the vine leaves begin to turn a
beautiful shade of red, during the winter when the fields turn
green from the long-awaited rains, or during the spring when
the rolling fields along the Barossa Ranges are filled with
purple flowers. This beautiful region will not disappoint.
Typical temperatures throughout the year range
from:
Summer:
(December to February) – The Barossa is very sunny
and hot, with clear blue skies, and warm temperatures well into
the evenings. The average temperature ranges from 28 to 32
degrees celcius, and hot days reaching into the mid to high
30’s is not uncommon.
Autumn:
(March to May) – the days are still warm, but the evenings are
cooler. Temperatures during the day will average mid to high
20’s.
Winter: (June
to August) – the temperatures are quite cool. Days can often be
clear blue skies with the sun shining, but daytime temperatures
tend to be around the mid to high teens. During the evenings
and over night temperatures can drop, however minus
temperatures are not too common. The winter months is the time
that the region relies on its rainfall.
Spring:
(September to November) – crisp days with frequent clear sunny
skies, and cool evening. Day time temperatures around this time
average around the low to mid 20’s.
The most
popular times to visit the
Barossa region are during Autumn, when the
vibrant vintage takes place each year in April, and during
Summer when the warm weather attracts tourists for the relaxed
