The Barossa Valley – Barossa Vintage
Festival
The Barossa Valley certainly knows how to put
on a show! The Barossa Vintage Festival is a
long-standing tradition and an important event on the
Barossa Valley calendar. It is the
longest running and largest wine tourist event within
Australia, in 2007 the Festival celebrated its 60th
anniversary.
Occurring every second year and beginning Easter Saturday, the
Barossa Vintage Festival runs across 9 indulgent
days. The Festival
offers something for everyone. Whether you are looking to
indulge in wine tasting, spending an enjoyable family day out,
looking to purchase some great quality wines, or just want to
relax and soak up the Barossa Valley heritage,
there is so much to do you will not be bored. Some of the more
distinguished events include:

Vino & Vibes – live music, dj’s, fine wine, great food, and
a party atmosphere.

Big, Bold & Brassy – held at the Tanunda Show hall, this
event showcases local bands and musicians, enjoy the
entertainment while feasting on great local produce and great
wines.

Distinguished Vineyards – a tour of some of the most renowned
vineyards in the Barossa
Valley region. For an appreciation of top
class wines, and the efforts that go into making a quality
bottle, this tour is a must, you will not be disappointed with
this ultimate wine experience.

Young Ambassador Dinner – recognition of the Young Ambassador
Scholarship Award, 12 finalists hand picked from the
Barossa
Valley region. An enjoyable dinner
evening supporting the local community and
youth.

Legends Behind the Barrels – offers a chance to meet some of
the most respected wine makers of the Barossa
Valley.
Spend time chatting and tasting some of the best wines
these ‘Legends’ have produced.

Rare & Distinguished Barossa Wine Auction – one of the
highlights of the Barossa Vintage
Festival. This
exclusive wine auction offers the opportunity to bid for some
sought after vintages. Some of the wines at auction
are quite rare. A
perfect event for the wine connoisseur and
collector.

Jazz Under a Hot Tin Roof – some fine jazz musicians put on a
great show, an enjoyable way to feast on great Barossa Valley food
and wine.

Vintage Festival Ball – considered to be the jewel in the
Festival’s crown, the Vintage Festival Ball is an exquisite
evening of sumptuous food and wine, sparkling entertainment,
and indulgent fun.
Also hosts the announcement of the winner of the Young
Ambassador Award.

Seppeltsfield Carnival Day – a fun family day out, with
performances, activities for kids and adults, and great food
and wine.

Vintage Celebration Day – involves a variety of locations
hosting special events on the Easter Sunday, events include
exhibitions, galleries, food and wine, kids activities, youth
entertainment.

Town Days – each local town in the Barossa Valley host a
Town Day in celebration of their uniqueness and their
contribution to the Barossa
Valley region, its lifestyle, culture, and

The Festival Parade – a great tradition where local businesses
and community groups dress up in recognition of their rich
heritage and local community. The parade travels from
Nuriootpa to Tanunda. Some great free family
entertainment is on offer, along with great food and
wine.

Barossa Air show – with Australia’s top acrobatic pilots wow
the crowds below with death defying air
stunts. An
enjoyable family fun day out.
The Barossa Vintage Festival successfully showcases the best
the Barossa
Valley has to offer. Encompassing all areas of the

schools, community centres and civic groups, musicians, chefs,
